About Hortensia H.
Hortensia H. lives at home with her mother, father, and twin brother, Horace. Hortensia and her twin brother were pretty close up until they turned 5. Then, Hortensia became very sad. Nobody knew why Hortensia was so sad. Hortensia couldn't explain it either. While she wanted to spend time with Horace before, now she just prefers to spend time by herself. Both Hortensia's mother and father were surprised by this change in their daughter. Especially because her twin brother never showed any sadness and is as happy as a clam.
Dr. Woodchuck began meeting with Hortensia once a week. Most days, Hortensia would come into his office and just cry. By the time she was finished crying, their session would be over. Dr. Woodchuck didn't try to push Hortensia to explain her sadness. He sat patiently and allowed her to be sad. Hortensia liked that Dr. Woodchuck didn't make her talk.
The times when Hortensia is feeling a bit better, she enjoys doing paint by numbers and eating rice cereal.
